THE INSIDE SCOOP: SCOOP INTERNATIONAL FASHION SHOW (PART 1)
“Either be a Work of Art or Wear a Work of Art.”
This Oscar Wilde quote really resonates with me. Jewellery in it’s most exquisite form is just as captivating as the pieces that hang in our lands galleries. So when I heard about Scoop International a fashion show which takes places across the Phillips Gallery and Saatchi Gallery in London; I though that’s the sort of event I need to be at. & thanks to the lovely team at Lambs to Slaughter I was able to attend their Press Day back in July.
Karen Radley Founder of Scoop International states :
Scoop’s selection of inspirational fashion collections is equalled by [the] outstanding works of art in the unique and bespoke Gallery environments.
& she wasn’t wrong. I’ve got so much to show you, so I’m going to split this post into 2 so you really take in and soak up the amazing creations I discovered. Starting with Sweet Pea.
Straight from their treasure chest to yours Sweet Pea’s collection of delicate fine jewellery is delightfully demure and adds a touch of lady like chic to your jewel style.
I was already familiar with the gorgeous headpieces of Julia Cameron as I had come across them while lustfully perzuin’ my favourite Dover street haunt Wolf and Badger.
I love the wearability of Cameron’s gold and silver headpieces. You can use them to unlock your inner Ethereal Princess, Boho Raver or Grecian goodness. & then when paired with one of Cameron’s decant hand pieces with interlinking rich Amethyst stones I am transformed back to a warm luxurious period of Ancient India where maharajahs threw lavish parties for exotic women of hypnotic beauty who were adorned in jewels from head to toe.
Once in a while I come across a jewellery collection (& designer in this case) that I just connect with. It’s a feeling I can’t describe, it goes far deeper than pangs of lust and admiration. Designer Miwako Yoshioka’s label Bark was one of those rare gems for me. Yoshioka showcased at Scoop Bark’s AW13 Collection: The Magical Mystery Tour and SS13 collection: She’s a rainbow . Both of which eloquently demonstrate her fresh, dynamic and enthralling design flair. On first glance Bark appears to be a label which emphasises on the fun and quirk; with their flamingo designs and golden lions jumping through hoops. However there is something timeless about about the pieces They are items that you can wear forever and pass down through generation to generation for them to enjoy and re-enjoy time and time again.
Bark demonstrates their contemporary edge with this 3D Look Book.
Bark also look after the guys with their range of Cufflink and Tie/Collar Pins. Though girls think we should get in on the Collar Pin action too.
