THAILOG: KOH SAMUI (PART 1)
My notebook is jammed packed with Koh Samui jewellery finds. Here is Part 1 for you …
GRANDMOTHER-GRAND FATHER ROCK MARKET
I picked up these cute wooden hand painted rings at the market on Lamai beach by the Grandmother-Grandfather Rocks. Even before I haggled her down these rings were priced at 75THB e/a which is just under £2.
THE FISHERMAN’S VILLAGE, BO PHUT
On Friday evenings the Fisherman’s village comes alive with a night market. Friday’s in the Fisherman’s village is also Cocktail Night. As you weave through the market there are stalls selling cocktails for about £1.50. Careful though, one can ( & I did) , lose their haggling head to the local Long Island Iced Teas.
SAONA & SAMANA
Saona & Samana are 2 cute boutiques located in of the Fisherman’s Village. Though the treasures inside aren’t ground breaking new designs, both of these shops hold great ranges. especially when it comes to beaded jewellery.
You can pick up so many kitsch pieces in this store.
Entering my ring collection is this gold number which features sweet little duck egg blue hearts
I Love the ‘C’ formation of this ring
If Aladdin had a cave in Thailand this would be it. Statement Pieces are the name of the game here. Unique & antique jewellery pieces from Afghanistan, Nepal, India & France sit proudly & boldly in this shop
A new addition to my jewellery box this Indian cuff which features a screw to hold it into place. I like to think this takes me 1 step closer to owning a Cartier Love Bracelet, which is locked together by a screwdriver your love 1 holds on to.
More Koh Samui treasures with you soon.
